  • This chime?s rich, deep notes are the result of special thick-walled aluminum tubes and a unique suspension method; the ancient Chinese pentatonic tuning is harmonious and relaxing
  • Imagine the Woodstock Windsinger Chimes hanging together as a collection in your garden; all sizes sound beautiful together because the notes in their pentatonic scale are always in harmony, no matter how they are played by the wind
  • Woodstock Chimes are known around the world for their innovative design, superior quality, and beautiful sound; hand-crafted, musically-tuned, created by Grammy Award-winning musician and instrument maker Garry Kvistad
One of the largest windchimes made by Woodstock Chimes, The Chimes of Orpheus make a striking statement in a garden or veranda. These Chimes are the product of the very finest artistry and craftsmanship, allowing you to experience a whole new dimension of beautiful sound. Fashioned after the original designs of Stephen Burnham, the look is boldly elegant and the sound irresistibly beautiful. Made from super-thick-walled aluminum tubes specially suspended with internal pins, these chimes resonate much longer than other windchimes, bathing you in waves of enduring harmony every time the wind blows. The pentatonic tuning--from an ancient Chinese scale—produces tones that play in any order or combination without clashing.

Woodstock Chimes are the original, musically-tuned, high-quality windchimes known worldwide for their superior sound. When listening to a Woodstock Chime, you hear a fine musical instrument played by the wind. Windsinger Chimes are perfectly hand-tuned using the ancient system of “just intonation” based on natural harmonics. This means the frequencies at which the different tubes vibrate are related to one another by simple whole-number ratios. Tones that are related in this way produce the most beautiful musical intervals. The sonic effect is exceptionally pure and soothing.

More than 30 years ago, the first Woodstock Chime was created by founder and owner Garry Kvistad from an aluminum lawn chair he found in a landfill. As a professional musician and instrument designer, he was fascinated by the Scales of Olympos, a 7th century pentatonic scale that can’t be played on a modern piano. Garry had the idea to cut and tune the lawn chair tubes to the exact frequency of the ancient scale. The resulting Chimes of Olympos was the first Woodstock Chime and is still one of our bestselling windchimes. Garry and his wife Diane founded Woodstock Percussion, Inc. in 1979 and it remains a family-owned business in New York’s Hudson Valley.

Woodstock Deco Waves Windchime, 33-1/2-Inch Long Feature

  • This elegant and sophisticated chime produces a soft, welcoming sound
  • Inspired by art deco style
  • Black finish ash wood and 29 antiqued copper finish steel disks
  • Woodstock chimes are created by Grammy Award winning musician Garry Kvistad
  • Windchime is 33-1/2-inch long and 10-inch wide
This elegant and sophisticated chime produces a soft, welcoming sound. The numerous copper-plated disks of this chime exhibit a motif reminiscent of the Art Deco style which reached the height of its popularity in the 1920s and 30s. Intended to be functional and modern, yet elegant and sophisticated, the Art Deco style was expressed in everything from automobiles to architecture. In fact, the Chrysler Building in New York City, one of the most iconic examples of Art Deco architecture, incorporates elements of the automobile - giant replicas of Chrysler hood ornaments and radiator caps - into the ornamentation of the building itself. The Art Deco movement quickly became a global phenomenon, and its influence can still be felt today. Started in 1979, Woodstock Percussion is a family-owned business located in New York's Hudson Valley. Woodstock Chimes are precision tuned, high quality windchimes created by Grammy Award winning musician Garry Kvistad. Woodstock Percussion products are designed in New York State and manufactured around the world. Woodstock representatives visit the production facilities frequently to ensure their high standards are met; the facilities are clean and organized and the employees are paid fair wages while being treated with dignity and respect. Woodstock chimes are both kinetic and musical, performing beautifully without the need of fossil fuels. The result is simplicity and sustainability as they are powered by the wind which is the creation of the heat from the sun - the most sustainable of all energy. Woodstock has been creating chimes that are the choice of discerning customers for over 30 years.

Woodstock Celtic Cross Windchime, 17-Inch Long Feature

  • Bright-sounding chime features a traditional celtic scale
  • Made of teak finish pine wood with wood bead and genuine stone accents, cloisonne-style cross windcatcher
  • 5 silver anodized aluminum chime tubes
  • Woodstock chimes are created by Grammy Award winning musician Garry Kvistad
  • Chime is 17-inch long
This bright-sounding chime features a traditional Celtic tuning along with a stunning, cloisonné-style Celtic Cross windcatcher. The metal and colored resin Celtic Cross windcatcher incorporates the most common Celtic knot design, the triquetra. Many speculate the 3 points in the triquetra represent the sun, moon and earth. This is especially fitting for a Celtic Cross, which combines the traditional Christian cross with a Sun Wheel, representing Taranis, the Celtic god of thunder. Enhanced by the traditional Celtic tuning, this chime is cheerful and bright. Windchime is 17-inch long. Made of teak finish ash wood, 5 silver anodized aluminum tubes, and genuine stone beads. Started in 1979, Woodstock Percussion is a family-owned business located in New York's Hudson Valley. Woodstock Chimes are precision tuned, high quality windchimes created by Grammy Award winning musician Garry Kvistad.
